In 1934 was born Traction Avant.
To prove to its reliability, with a 7S, François Lecot started at once the postal Raid Paris-Moscow-Paris engraved in the memories.
In 1984, to celebrate the 50ème birthday of this epopee, 131 Traction joined the Russian capital.
July 1957, Citroen decided to stop the production of Traction Avant, but one does not stop an alive legend thus, a car which became a “art of living”.
July 2007, The Globe Driver’s team gives you the possibility of going to pay a visit/homage to the car of François Lecot, in Moscow, and living an unforgettable experiment driving your faithful Traction.
Your Traction on the Red Square?
This Rally Kozak 2007 is first of all large AVANTure in East Europe, an exploration through countries and their populations, a spellbinding experiment of West-East contrasts, a meeting with Europeans whose culture and habits are basically very different.
Gradually, subtly, the crossing of Germany, Poland and Byelorussia will enable you to prepare to apprehend your contact with the largest country of the world:
Russia, with its small typical villages, its monasteries and churches, meetings with its inhabitants whose contact and human warmth are surprising for a country so close to Arctic Ocean.
But also Moscow the vibrating mégapole and romantic and mystical Saint Petersburg. It’s not a chance if during the tsars, the monarch carried the title of sovereign of all Russias. Russia is really a country of the extremes and diversity. Moscow and St Petersburg for example are two cities that all opposes. Moscow is the political history of Russia, an extraordinary academy of all architectures. Saint-Petersbourg is the brilliant creation of a sovereign, an architectural masterpiece of XVlllth century, immense urban Versailles one does not weary to admire along the channels, with the most extraordinary museums of the world… Both are however in a transitional period, with all cultural confrontations and conflicts that it involves. The past is still present, but dissolves slowly. In the centre of Moscow, almost no more signs of the Brejniev’s period, almost no more babouchkas and other traditional images of the Soviet Russia still remain. In Saint-petersburg, for its tercentenary, the city made an enormous renovation, but the famous courses workers and popular still remain. Thus come to live with us all this share of the past that does not want to die, this Russian heart which refuses to be diluted too quickly in the Western way of life…
Tatiana Parfishina, the photographer of Globe Driver, proposes to share with you her passionate love for her Russia: which best way of discovering a country?
This voyage constitutes a unique opportunity to discover this Eastern Europe so close and so astonishing, its roads, its cities and villages, its population and its habits, its architecture and its gastronomy, at driving your Traction Avant (or a Globe Driver’s rental Traction).
Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Brussels: after the Official gala reception in Saint Petersburg, the return will enable you to cross the Europeans capitals where a special and personalized reception is reserved to you.
Stages measured, only on tarred road and an improved back up authorize the participation of any car, without special preparation.
